Newton Baptist Temple   621 E. 12th St. N. Newton, IA, 50208  641-275-1167
Newton Baptist Temple has been a part of central Iowa's culture since 1968, when A.B. Sudbrock and his wife, Dorthea, came to Newton to start a church. Located first on the north side of downtown, across from the current public library, the church eventually relocated to E. 12th St. N, where we currently meet.
In the July of 2010, after 42 years of faithful service, the Lord saw fit to call pastor Sudbrock home to heaven.

Dorthea Sudbrock is still a precious member of our congregation, and is involved in many of the same ministries she helped to establish over the years. Though no one will ever be able to replace Pastor Sudbrock in the hearts and lives of our faithful members. We hope you will find an opportunity to join us in fellowship and service to the Lord.

Newton Baptist Temple is an autonomous, sovereign, independent Baptist church governed by and with the consent of its members under the leadership of the Pastor. The policy and practice of this church are patterned after the churches of the New Testament.

We are currently looking for a Pastor that is called by God to lead our church. A Pastor that will carry on teaching the Bible doctrines that Pastor A.B.Sudbrock taught our church for the last 40 years.
